Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Bardesa Limited, operating as Wendevo ("we", "us" or "our"), a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9922778).

These Terms apply to the Wendevo mobile applications, our public website, organizer portal and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, purchasing tickets or otherwise using the Service, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.

Additional policies apply where relevant, including our Community Guidelines, Refund Policy and, for organizers, our Organizer Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information.

2. Eligibility and age requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Wendevo.
• You must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account or completing transactions.
• You may not impersonate another person or create accounts using false identities.
• You may not access the Service if your access has been prohibited following a valid enforcement decision, unless we authorize your return.

3. Accounts and account security

Certain features require a Wendevo account, while some services, including eligible ticket purchases, may be available without registering.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access.

You must keep your account information reasonably accurate and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

We may require additional verification or temporarily restrict access when necessary to protect accounts, prevent fraud or comply with applicable requirements.

4. Acceptable use and conduct

Wendevo is intended to support respectful, authentic social interactions and legitimate events.

You agree not to:

• Violate applicable laws, these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
• Harass, threaten, bully, discriminate against, impersonate or exploit others.
• Engage in fraud, phishing, financial scams or misleading solicitations.
• Post or distribute illegal, abusive, sexually exploitative, hateful or otherwise prohibited content.
• Share another person's private information without authorization.
• Send spam or use Wendevo for unauthorized commercial solicitation.
• Scrape or collect member information, use unauthorized automated access or attempt to interfere with our systems.
• Attempt to bypass security controls or access accounts, services or information without permission.

5. Meeting people and attending events

Wendevo helps people discover one another, arrange meetups and find events. We do not ordinarily organize or supervise independent meetups and third-party events.

You are responsible for exercising reasonable care when meeting people or attending activities, including respecting personal boundaries, venue rules and applicable safety requirements.

Identity verification, where available, confirms aspects of a user's identity. It does not guarantee their intentions, conduct or personal safety.

We cannot guarantee the identity, behaviour or reliability of every member or organizer. Please use the safety and reporting features available in Wendevo and exercise appropriate precautions.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In Nigeria, you can try 112.

6. Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of photographs, text, messages, event descriptions and other content you create or submit to Wendevo, subject to the rights of other parties.

By submitting content, you grant Wendevo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit and technically adapt that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and provide the Service.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide the content and that doing so does not violate applicable law or another person's rights.

We may remove, restrict or preserve relevant content when necessary to enforce our policies, investigate reports, comply with legal requirements or protect the Service.

Content deletion and retention are addressed further in our Privacy Policy.

7. Identity and organizer verification

Certain features, including paid event hosting, may require identity verification, additional account information or business verification.

You must provide authentic information and use only documents that you are authorized to submit. Fraudulent or misleading verification attempts are prohibited.

Individual and business organizers may have different eligibility and verification requirements. Additional obligations are set out in our Organizer Terms.

8. Events, ticket purchases and admission

Wendevo provides technology for organizers to create, publish and manage events, offer tickets and register attendees.

• Event responsibility: Unless expressly stated otherwise, the organizer is responsible for providing and delivering the advertised event.
• Ticket availability: Ticket quantities, eligibility, prices and admission conditions may vary by event and ticket type.
• Guest checkout: Eligible tickets may be purchased without a Wendevo account. Buyers must provide accurate contact details to receive tickets and order communications.
• Purchase limits: Standard checkout supports up to 4 tickets per order, subject to event-specific restrictions and available inventory.
• Admission allowance: Some tickets admit multiple people. A ticket's stated admission allowance determines how many eligible attendees it covers.
• Ticket security: Keep ticket QR codes and private checkout links secure. Sharing them may allow another person to access or use them.
• Entry requirements: Organizers and venues may impose legitimate age, identity, security and admission requirements, provided they are applied lawfully and fairly.

Ticket refunds, cancellations and payment problems are governed by our Refund Policy and applicable law.

9. Payments and service fees

Ticket payments are processed through Paystack, subject to applicable payment-provider terms.

Ticket prices, eligible promotional discounts and any applicable service fees are presented during checkout before payment is completed.

Some organizers choose to cover applicable ticketing fees, while others pass eligible fees to buyers as an additional service fee at checkout.

Payment confirmation may depend on successful processing and verification by the payment provider. An attempted payment does not necessarily mean an order has been fulfilled.

Wendevo does not need to store complete payment card details to provide ticketing services.

10. Wendevo intellectual property

Wendevo's software, branding, designs, interfaces and other materials are owned by Wendevo or its licensors, except for content owned by users and third parties.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit or reverse engineer protected parts of the Service except with permission or where applicable law permits.

11. Account suspension and deletion

You may request account deletion through the supported account settings or by contacting us.

Account deletion is subject to the 30-day grace period and applicable retention requirements described in our Privacy Policy.

We may restrict, suspend or disable accounts, remove content or limit particular features where reasonably necessary to address policy violations, security concerns, suspected fraud or legal obligations.

Ending an account does not automatically remove outstanding payment, refund, dispute or other lawful obligations.

12. Service availability and disclaimers

We aim to provide a reliable and useful Service, but availability may be affected by maintenance, technical failures, network issues or third-party service interruptions.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not guarantee the conduct, reliability or performance of independent members, organizers or venues.

Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Liability and legal limitations

To the extent permitted by law, Wendevo is not responsible for independent events or third-party conduct that is outside its reasonable control.

We may also exclude liability for certain indirect or consequential losses where applicable law permits.

These limitations do not exclude or restrict liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights and remedies under Nigerian law.

14. Responsibility for violations

You are responsible for your own unlawful conduct and violations of these Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, you may be required to compensate Wendevo for reasonable losses, costs or claims directly arising from your breach of these Terms or infringement of third-party rights.

15. Complaints, disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to applicable mandatory legal protections.

If you have a complaint concerning the Service, please contact legal@wendevo.com so we can review it.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue available legal remedies through courts or other lawful dispute resolution processes.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from contacting competent consumer protection, data protection or other regulatory authorities where permitted by law.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our services, operational requirements or applicable law.

The current version will be published on this page with its revision date.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain any necessary agreement before material changes take effect.
