Organizer Terms
Last updated 19 October 2026
1. Organizer eligibility and verification
Organizers must provide accurate information and complete any verification required by Wendevo or our payment service providers.
- Individual organizers: You must complete identity verification. Bank accounts used to receive ticket revenue must match your verified identity.
- Business organizers: You must provide valid business registration details, including your Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration number where applicable. Business organizer accounts require review and approval before they become active.
- The person creating or managing a business organizer account must be authorized to act on the business's behalf.
- Additional limits may apply to individual organizers, including restrictions on ticket sales or event revenue.
- We may request further information or restrict organizer access where reasonably necessary for verification, compliance, fraud prevention or platform safety.
2. Your responsibilities and ours
You are responsible for organizing and delivering the events you publish, including their content, venue, staffing, safety arrangements, permits, licenses, accessibility obligations and compliance with applicable laws.
Wendevo provides tools for event discovery, ticket sales, registration and attendee management. Eligible ticket payments are processed using Paystack, subject to applicable payment service terms and requirements.
Unless we expressly agree otherwise, Wendevo is not the organizer, venue operator or provider of the activities advertised in your event listing.
3. Event listings and changes
- Provide accurate event information, including dates, times, locations, admission requirements, prices and what each ticket includes.
- Only use names, images, trademarks and other materials you have permission to use.
- Ensure events comply with applicable laws and our Community Guidelines.
- Keep event information current and inform attendees about material changes to event arrangements.
- Material changes, cancellations or failures to deliver an event may result in refund obligations, event restrictions or other action.
- Wendevo may remove or restrict misleading, fraudulent, prohibited or unsafe event listings.
4. Ticketing fees and pricing
Creating standard free events and issuing free tickets does not incur Wendevo's paid-ticket commission.
For paid tickets, Wendevo's standard commission is 5% of the ticket subtotal after eligible promotional discounts. Applicable payment processing fees also apply.
Organizers can select one of the supported fee arrangements:
- Buyer-paid fees: An additional service fee is charged at checkout to cover the applicable platform commission and estimated payment processing costs. The organizer's calculated ticket revenue equals the discounted ticket subtotal before subsequent adjustments, such as refunds or disputes.
- Organizer-absorbed fees: The buyer pays the discounted ticket subtotal, and applicable platform and processing fees are deducted from the organizer's calculated revenue.
Eligible organizers may receive temporary promotional commission waivers. The commission and fees applicable to a transaction depend on the pricing configuration in effect when the order is created.
We may update fees or pricing arrangements in accordance with applicable law and our contractual obligations. Material changes will be communicated where required.
5. Payments and settlements
Organizers must connect a supported bank account and complete the necessary payout verification before selling paid tickets. Payments are processed by Paystack. Wendevo collects ticket payments on the organizer's behalf, holds each event's proceeds until after the event, and then pays the organizer's share for that event by bank transfer, less any refunds and applicable fees.
- New organizers: Ticket revenue is generally eligible for release 48 hours after an event ends, provided the event has not been cancelled and there are no pending refunds or other applicable restrictions.
- Manual release: Becoming eligible for release does not guarantee that funds will arrive in your bank account at that time. Payouts are sent by bank transfer through Paystack after review, and a failed transfer is retried.
- Established organizers: After 3 successful payouts, an eligible organizer's payouts are sent automatically 12 hours after each event, subject to continued eligibility. Changing the payout account returns the next payout to manual review.
- Account verification: Payout accounts must meet applicable identity and business-name verification requirements. Mismatched or changed payout details may result in additional checks or renewed settlement holds.
- Payment restrictions: We may delay or restrict settlements where reasonably necessary to address refunds, payment disputes, suspected fraud, compliance requirements or other applicable obligations.
6. Refunds and event cancellations
Organizers must select from the refund policies supported by Wendevo and communicate the selected policy to buyers before purchase.
- Depending on the selected policy, tickets may be refundable until 24 hours before the event or designated as non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
- If you cancel an event, affected orders may require full refunds, including applicable service fees, in accordance with Wendevo's Refund Policy and applicable law.
- If an event does not take place, is materially misrepresented or cannot be delivered as advertised, we may require refunds or take other appropriate action.
- You may be responsible for refund amounts, applicable processing costs and other recoverable expenses arising from an event you organize, subject to applicable terms and law.
- Refund processing and the time required for funds to reach buyers may depend on the payment provider and receiving bank.
7. Payment disputes and chargebacks
A buyer may dispute a transaction through their bank or payment provider. Where a dispute relates to your event, we may ask you to provide supporting evidence, including event details, attendance records or proof that the advertised services were delivered.
To the extent permitted by applicable law and our payment agreements, you may be responsible for losses, refunds or charges resulting from disputes attributable to your conduct, event or failure to fulfil your obligations.
We may recover amounts properly owed through available settlement adjustments or other lawful means, subject to applicable agreements.
8. Tickets, admission and check-in
- Tickets issued through Wendevo may contain unique QR codes used to validate admission.
- Some ticket types may admit more than one person. Organizers must honour the admission allowance stated for each valid ticket.
- Use Wendevo's supported check-in tools to validate tickets and help prevent unauthorized reuse or admission beyond the ticket's allowance.
- Apply entry and security requirements fairly, in accordance with the event description, applicable law and legitimate venue rules.
- You are responsible for managing the access and conduct of your event staff and authorized team members.
9. Attendee data and privacy
Wendevo may provide organizers with attendee information reasonably necessary to manage events, such as registration details, ticket types, registration answers and check-in status.
You must use attendee information only for legitimate, authorized purposes, protect it against unauthorized access and comply with applicable data protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
- Do not sell, disclose or misuse attendee information.
- Do not add attendees to unrelated marketing lists without an appropriate lawful basis.
- Restrict attendee data access to authorized personnel who need it to perform their roles.
- Do not retain attendee information longer than necessary for the permitted purpose or applicable legal obligations.
See our Privacy Policy for additional information about Wendevo's handling of personal data.
10. Taxes, licenses and compliance
You are responsible for identifying and meeting the tax, reporting, registration, licensing and other legal obligations associated with your event activities and ticket revenue.
Wendevo will address its own applicable tax obligations in accordance with law. Applicable taxes, withholding obligations or regulatory charges may affect the amounts payable or settled.
11. Suspension and restrictions
We may restrict event publishing, suspend ticket sales, remove listings, limit account features or suspend an organizer account where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, serious safety concerns, legal requirements or violations of these terms.
Where appropriate, we may request an explanation or supporting information before or after taking action.
Restrictions on an organizer account do not automatically eliminate existing obligations to attendees, including admission, cancellation, refund and other applicable responsibilities.
12. Liability and responsibility
You remain responsible for the planning, operation and delivery of your events, including compliance with safety requirements, venue arrangements, applicable licenses and obligations to attendees.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may be responsible for reasonable losses or claims arising from your breach of these terms, unlawful conduct or failure to deliver your event obligations.
The applicable limitations of Wendevo's liability are addressed in our Terms of Service.
