Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Wendevo collects, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

We may also receive bank account verification results and retain account information needed for settlement, security and transaction records.

Identity verification

Some Wendevo features require identity verification. Our identity verification provider may process identification documents, photographs, biometric comparisons and related information.

Wendevo may receive verification results and identifying information needed to confirm eligibility, prevent fraud and enforce account rules.

Wendevo does not sell personal information.

6. International data transfers

Some service providers may process or store personal information outside Nigeria.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we seek to use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards under the NDPA and other applicable requirements.

7. How long we retain information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and maintain security.

  • Account and profile information: Generally retained while your account is active, subject to deletion and retention requirements.
  • Account deletion: When you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period. At the end of that period, eligible personal information is deleted or anonymized in accordance with our deletion procedures.

9. How we protect information

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

These measures include appropriate authentication, access controls, encrypted network connections, password hashing and security monitoring.

No service can guarantee absolute security. Where a personal data breach triggers legal notification obligations, we will make the required notifications in accordance with applicable law.

If we become aware that an account belongs to someone below the minimum age, we may restrict or remove it and take appropriate steps concerning its data.
